What is the Performance Viewer?
Watch legendary comedian Frank Bush in a vaudeville performance from a variety of perspectives in the
theater, from the most expensive boxes to the cheapest balcony seats.
Compare the reactions of different spectators and even experience
the act through the eyes of the performer. Switch between any of
eight perspectives at any time and read the extensive hypermedia
notes to gain a richer understanding of the performance in its historical
context.
Which size should I choose?
The Performance Viewer streams video, which is
available in four sizes. Which size will work best for you depends
on the speed of your Internet connection and your computer.
- Low. Smallest size video, lowest video quality, mono sound.
Requires medium broadband connection speed (40KB/s).
- Medium. Medium size video, good video quality, mono sound.
Requires medium/fast broadband connection speed (75KB/s).
- High. Full size video, good video quality, stereo sound.
Requires fast broadband connection speed (150KB/s).
- Super High. Full size video, maximum video quality, stereo sound.
Requires fastest broadband connection speed, e.g. a direct T1 connection. This
version will probably not work with most cable or DSL (300KB/s).

What is the Theater Fly Thru?
Explore the Union Square Theater as it
looked in the late 19th century. No longer in existence, we have painstakingly
recreated the UST from historical etchings, descriptions, floor plans
and photographs of other theaters from the period. Take a 3-D tour
through the New York theater where some of the most famous performers
of vaudeville performed.
Which version should I choose?
- Light.
We removed the Union Square Theater's 1,200 seats from this version to allow real-time navigation on slower machines.
- Full.
Almost any Windows or Macintosh computer manufactured in 2004 or later, and many high end computers manufactured earlier, should be capable of running the full version.
