Frank Bush Joke Books

Below are scans of some of the joke books that C.B. Davis used to reconstruct Frank Bush's acts. These joke books were published early in the twentieth century and contain many jokes, especially written in the personae of Irish and Jewish characters, attributed to Frank Bush. Such attributions, however, are notoriously unreliable. Vaudeville comedians commonly "borrowed" each others' material and often disagreed about who deserved credit for a particular joke.
